Politis and Terjesen published in Academy of Management Learning & Education.
Diamanto Politis, Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Lund University School of Economics and Management, and Siri Terjesen, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, has recently published an article in Academy of Management Learning & Education.
In the article entitled ‘In praise of Multidisciplinary Scholarship and the Polymath’, the authors discuss the importance of multidisciplinary scholarship and its challenges. Their starting point is that the world’s problems require a multidisciplinary skillset - that is, the combination and involvement of several academic disciplines or professional specializations to a topic or problem. Following this line of reasoning, they advocate the need for polymaths, i.e. scholars who possess knowledge in multiple disciplines and who can adapt this expertise across disciplinary domains. In the article Politis and Terjesen also identify and discuss institutional, organizational and individual strategies that may support and promote multidisciplinary scholarship.
