PhD studies
in business administration or research policy
If you wish to continue your studies after your Master’s degree, PhD studies may be an option. The PhD programme normally entails four years of full time studies and is concluded with a doctoral degree, the most advanced academic qualification awarded in Sweden. It is also possible to enroll for a licentiate degree, which normally corresponds to two years of full-time studies.
The Department of Business Administration offers PhD programmes in two subjects: Business Administration, and Research Policy. The overall aim of both PhD programmes is to train PhD students to become critical and independent researchers with in-depth knowledge of their subject, thorough knowledge of different research methods and a good understanding of the common research issues and their practical application. The aim is also to give a qualified base for a future carrier within the academic world and/or in the world outside the university.
The main research areas at the Department of Business administration are:
- Accounting and finance
- Entrepreneurship
- Marketing
- Organisation
- Research Policy
- Strategic Management
