During the jubilee year, we are proud to present a programme of events within the University’s regular activities as well as special jubilee productions. The celebrations involve festivities as well as showcasing the University’s breadth and academic expertise. With the seminars, workshops and lectures that LUSEM is hosting, our researchers share their knowledge and expertise on different topics.
Today’s workshop will discuss the postdoctoral challenges and opportunities of a career in academia. The point of departure is the book Efter festen (After the party). The book identifies a number of skills that appear necessary for the continuation of an academic career – from doctor to associate professor – and also discusses prospects for understanding the current academic structure and culture. The workshop addresses postdocs, PhD students, supervisors, researchers, administrators working with PhD:s or postdocs and others interested in academic work and what academics do.
The workshop is held by the authors of the above mentioned book, Anna Jonsson and Sara Eldén. Anna Jonsson is an Associate professor in Business administration at the School of Economics and Management and Sara Eldén is a Senior lecturer in Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
