Five strategies identified for intrapreneurs to overcome barriers for radical innovation
The thesis, supervised by Associate Professor Joakim Winborg, is a qualitative deep dive into the urgent need among established corporations to successfully deploy radical innovation in order to stay competitive. However, intrapreneurs working on radical innovation projects are often seen to encounter several barriers that hinder the work from successfully going forward. This problem is mainly due to the fact that processes of many companies are not made to support this kind of innovation. Therefore, intrapreneurs instead need to rely on their social capital to overcome barriers for radical innovation. The thesis identifies five strategies that intrapreneurs use to build social capital and thus manage to overcome barriers for radical innovation.
